Health Testing & Responsible Breeding
Health is not optional at Reginamur - it is the foundation of everything we do. Before any breeding pair is selected, both the stud and queen must pass a comprehensive panel of genetic and cardiac tests. We believe that a beautiful Bengal without a healthy future is not a Bengal worth breeding.
Conditions We Test For
- PK Deficiency (PK def) - A hereditary red blood cell disorder. All our cats are tested Negative.
- PRA-b (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) - A genetic eye disease. All our cats are Negative.
- HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) - The leading cause of heart disease in cats. Screened annually via echocardiogram by a board-certified cardiologist.
